Volunteers contribute to every aspect and activity that happens at Community Waterfront Heritage Centre (CWHC). One of the most important aspects to the health and sustainability of CWHC is getting enthusiastic people to serve on our Board.
Community Waterfront Heritage Centre is seeking people who are interested in being Directors on our Board.
The Board of Directors is responsible for the governance and accountability of CWHC. Their responsibilities are to establish and maintain CWHC’s vision, mission, strategic priorities and overall direction. Directors attend Board meetings, which are held approximately eleven times per year, and an Annual General Meeting in the Spring.
Board members participate in deliberations by asking questions, expressing views and suggestions, making or seconding motions and voting. Board members volunteer to perform other duties for the Board; for example, serve as an Officer, undertake a special project, represent the Board on a committee or an external body, assist in fund raising, etc. The Board of Directors act as ambassadors for CWHC in the community.
